Decide if you are going to have a meal, snacks or just dessert.
Plan the menu and where it will come from ~If you are going to have it catered make the proper arrangements now so that you are not rushed later.
Decide on party favors ~these should definitely fit with your theme or color scheme.
If you are playing games decide what sort of prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Delegate who is in charge of what.
2-3 Weeks Before The Shower
Mail out invitations 2-3 weeks before the event.
Meet with everyone involved to discuss progress.
Confirm guest count.
Purchase all supplies.
Order flowers if necessary

1 Week Before The Shower
Purchase gift for the mommy-to-be.
Check to make sure that all food orders are still taken care of and confirm pick up.
Make follow up phone calls to confirm guests
Choose what you plan to wear so that you are not scrambling at the last minute.
The Day Before The Shower
Prepare food that can be made ahead of time.
Make sure that all cameras/video cameras are charged or have batteries.
Clean party area.
If possible start decorating.
Wrap gifts for game winners and mommy-to-be.
Make signs pointing guests to the party.
The Day of The Shower

Prepare the rest of the food or pick up food at caterer’s.
Set up the buffet table.
Set up a table for gifts. (Try to provide a “comfy” chair for the mommy-to-be close to the gift table.)
Provide a place to record what gifts were received by whom so that the mommy-to-be will have them in one place when writing thank-you’s. Assign someone to record it.
Set up seating
Place street signs in proper locations 30 min. prior to shower.
Look around at all of your accomplishments. It takes a lot of planning to put together a shower. Pat yourself on the back.
